Dr. Magdalena Wiśniewska-Drewniak is an academic teacher and researcher employed at the Faculty of History, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland) - her Alma Mater, located in her hometown. Since the beginning of her education in archival science and records management, she has been interested in the topic of community archives and independent archives, as well as research methods in archival science and new trends in archival research. She is the author of numerous publications and conference presentations, particularly on the topic of community archives. Between 2016 and 2019 she was PI in a research grant involving an empirical study of eight contemporary community archives, which formed the basis of her Ph.D. dissertation (defended in 2018, published in 2019; accessible here – in Polish). She works closely with the Center for Community Archives in Warsaw (currently as a member of the Programming Committee) and is involved in international cooperation in the field of archival research and teaching. She is a member of the Society of Polish Archivists and the International Council on Archives. In her private life, she enjoys Pilates and audiobooks, preferably in combination.

Historian and archivist (graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków). At the Doctoral School of Humanities, Theological and Artistic Sciences at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, she is preparing a dissertation on oral history in community archives (under the supervision of Prof. Waldemar Chorążyczewski and Dr. Magdalena Wiśniewska-Drewniak). Graduate of Gender Studies at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Coordinator of training and education at the Center for Community Archives. Conducts webinars and trainings and coordinates meetings at cultural institutions interested in starting/supporting community archives. She teaches community archivists how to implement oral history interviews and how to describe, process and make them available online at www.zbioryspoleczne.pl. Previously, she worked at the KARTA Center Foundation, where, among other things, she coordinated oral history projects and conducted training on recording testimonies. From 2019 to 2022, she was chairwoman of the Audit Committee of the Polish Oral History Association and currently serves as vice president. She is in love with old movies, tennis and literature by day.

 

Investigator no. 2 – dr. Agnieszka Rosa

 Dr. Agnieszka Rosa has been working as an assistant professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń since 2010. Her research interests include archival studies and source studies, primarily computerization of archives, archival education, Web archiving, ego-documental studies and archives user research. She was the originator and co-founder of the Forum of Archival Educators, deputy chairwoman of the board of the Archival Education Section of the Association of Polish Archivists, co-organizer of a series of archival conferences called “Toruń Archival Confrontations” and co-editor of the publishing series of the same name, scientific secretary of the journal “Archiwa-Kancelarie-Zbiory”, member of the scientific council of the series titled “Symposia Archivistica”. She participated in the work of the DARIAH-PL team and in 2014-2016 she chaired the team on Internet archiving, as part of the project on preservation of digital archival heritage by the National Digital Archive and NCU. Author of more than a hundred publications on archives and ego-documents, as well as of several archival exhibitions and urban games

 

Investigator no. 3 – dr. Kamila Siuda

Dr. Kamila Siuda has been working at the Bernoulli Society secretariat since July 2022. She completed her master’s studies in Cultural Anthropology and Archival Studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. After several years of experience in Polish cultural institutions and foreign outsourcing companies dealing with document management, she decided to start working on a doctorate. Her research interests resulted in a PhD in the field of research data archives in Poland, on the example of ethnological archives, which are a forgotten resource of much research data.
